The cutest Watch it Wednesday.

Okay, so I have to admit that I really hope my kid at least likes music. I feel like asking for this level of commitment may be a bit much to ask...but seriously, this is adorable!

Past times

I have been feeling un-inspired to blog. I have some small space ideas and I could talk about baby beard, but I didn't feel like sharing that stuff this week. I have been wanting to post something...cause if I don't I will get out of the swing. Then today it hit me.
My dad has recently gotten on Facebook. I am so excited about this. I am excited because my dad is the kind of guy who has had friends for like 60 years, so he could really utilize the ability to keep in touch. I never really thought about the photos that would start surfacing of him. Almost every day this week a new photo of my dad and uncle Kenny when they were in the Navy has popped up on Facebook. I am dying! These are PRICELESS!

I just wanted to share a few of them with you, cause they are awesome!

So here is my daddy...when he was really young and hip! haha!
Here he is!

Dad is the one in the blue shirt in the back and Kenny is in the front on the far right.

This is Dad on the left!

Seriously, aren't these awesome! I am so glad that people are posting these so I can see them! Love it.

Have a great day!

Watch it Wednesday.

So, I am on a mission trip with the youth group from HPUMC. We are in San Antonio and are working hard. Don't worry,  I am taking it really easy, taking lots of water breaks and mostly just giving direction to the students on what to do. It turns out that all those mission trips with the DIRT team from LUMC actually taught me a lot.

So, one of the students showed me this video yesterday and I knew it was my "Watch it Wednesday" video immediately.

I laughed sooo hard. I don't know if it is because I am exhausted and almost everything seems funny or if it just really is that great.

This week is a short one...Enjoy.

3D

The truth is, the 3D sonogram pictures have always freaked me out. ALWAYS. In our Dr. office it says that to have a 3D done it costs extra. We had decided we would not do that.

Friday we went to the Dr. for our monthly sonogram to make sure that is well. The Dr. gave us great approval! He said "you look too healthily to be here." Amen!

Baby was weighing in at 1lb and 13oz. and has put itself into a great position.

Because it is getting so much bigger, it was hard for me to be able to actually make out anything other than the spine on this one, plus the doc was moving really fast.

I saw what I thought was the profile and said, "is that the face?"
He says, "oh...wait a second."

then in two seconds this popped up on the screen.

I did cry. I think it is beautiful...and yes...still a little creepy.

But here it is. Baby Beard. or as others are referring to it...stubble...whisker...or danger.

so...what do you think, boy or girl?

Watch it Wednesday: KONY

Yes, this is 30 minutes long. But it is good and important. If you have the time, watch. If you don't feel like you have the time, watch it anyway.

If you really, really feel like you don't have the time, then please take note of this.

Hopefully you will hear the name Joseph Kony a lot in the coming days (due to this video).

He is the rebel leader of the LRA. The Lord's Resistance Army. He is the "man in charge" of child soldiers. He has power for the sake of having power. He works with no one. His child soldiers are forced to live lives of brutality...and its time for that to end.

The problem, and reason why we can't arrest him...He is "Invisible". No one knows who he is. This is a campaign to make him famous so that he cannot hide anymore.

you really should just watch...or start it and then if you feel like you can stop watching...by all means, go ahead.

and just a warning...you may want to have some tissues available.

Faithful. An honest conversation.

I volunteer with the youth at our church. Right now they are doing a series called "Hunger Games." Yes, I was totally stoked when I heard...then I learned that it didn't actually have anything to do with the books...but it did have to do with the fact that we all hunger for something and most of the time we will do whatever it takes to get it.

Two weeks ago, Stephen spoke about Abram and Sarai. He talked about how God had made them a promise about their descendants. They wanted children so badly, that even though the Lord had promised this to them, they just couldn't wait. They took matters into their own hands. This didn't go very well.
And even still, 25 years after the Lord had promised them a child, God made good on his promise.

Because God is Faithful!

As I listened to Stephen my heart was stirred and I was overcome with a very vivid memory.
Somewhere between 2 and 3 years ago, Andrew and I had a very deep conversation about our lives and our pasts. It was a beautiful night, we prayed together and I cried a little and we talked about how we just want our lives to honor the Lord, and we want to be good spouses. After our conversation was finished, we were laying in bed, I rolled over and it was like I audibly heard the Lord tell me, "you will have a family."

Immediately, I told Andrew, "I think I just heard the Lord promise me a family."

Nothing before or since then has anything like that ever happened.

But here is the thing. Two weeks ago, I sat and listened to Stephen share about Abram and Sarai and I realized that I had also hungered for a family so badly that I had reasoned/justified the words I was so sure were from the Lord into something else.

I had told myself that by "family", it meant adoption or the youth who we get to invest in who may not have firm families. I justified the word so that it was okay for me to have less faith in the Lord.

In all reality, I had come to a point where it really was okay if I didn't have my own, because what I listed is FAMILY after all...but as I sat and heard this message, I was reminded so clearly that those definitions are not what I knew the Lord had said to me that night. We are having a child...

God is Faithful.

I have been struggling with the fact that I am raising support this year. This is SUCH a humbling thing to do, and I have moments of "Dear Lord, I don't know if anyone is going to support me!" panic. As I have been thinking on the Faithfulness of the Lord, it has been such a blessing to know that I will have what I need...

God is Faithful.

Andrew and I finished Romans yesterday.
Romans 15:13
"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope."

Hope. Belief. God is Faithful.

We started 1 Corinthians today.
1 Corinthians 1:9
"God is Faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord."

God is Faithful.

We sang this song at church yesterday. I have sang it before, but yesterday was MORE.
I came undone. I couldn't event move my lips. I just stood with tears streaming down my face, BELIEVING even in my wandering, doubting, problem solving, worrying, and fear...that
HE IS FAITHFUL.

I hope it blesses you.
